Guidance - Ministry

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." - Matthew 7:7-8

Webster's dictionary defines guidance as "something that provides direction or advice as to a decision or course of action. Council, steering, direction."

As a church, Christ Central's primary purpose is ministry. We are to fulfill the Gospel in all its aspects, many of which are set in stone, commanded in the Word of God. Preaching, worship, fellowship, communion, and benevolence are standards for any congregation.

However, we believe every congregation has a specific plan, vision, and areas of ministry that God wants us to accomplish. This is why we call the church every January to a corporate fast to seek the Lord's direction, advice, and course of action. We want his council, and we want Him steering this ship.

Every Christian is a minister, and you have a ministry. You may never be called upon to stand behind a pulpit or hold a position or office in the church, but God has a ministry for you to do. We believe that it is not only in the church but in your personal and professional life. It is vitally important that you receive guidance from the Lord regarding what He would have you do.

In this set-aside time of corporate fasting (21 days), let us seek the Lord for his council and direction for the ministry He would have each of us to do.

Father God, I pray that as I go through the rest of my fast that you guide me to see what you want me to do for my ministry. I pray that throughout this year, I am directed by your voice each and every day. Amen.
