As Christians, we are to seek guidance in our professional lives from the Holy Spirit. Each of us are specifically designed and gifted by God to accomplish his purposes.

"Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." - Philippians 2:12-13

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10

We often separate our professional lives from our personal and ministry life. We need God's guidance in all these areas. God needs his children in the workforce. He needs his values and character to be demonstrated in a lost, dark, and dying world.

We should seek his guidance in what we should do for a profession. After finding it, we should seek his counsel on how to conduct ourselves. Whether we are an employee, supervisors, or owners of a company, we need to include God's thoughts, ways, and His word in all our dealings (Isaiah 55:8-9).

During this time of consecrated fasting, while we are seeking his directions, let us lay our talents, gifts, and professions at his feet.

Father God, I pray that in my professional life, you will guide me to be the light as I am called to be. That I will walk with you no matter the situation that comes up, and you speak through me. I also pray that you will guide me in my decisions I make when it comes to my professional life. Amen.
